Pastor Keith Madsen
Keith Madsen is a writer and minister who has served churches in Kansas, Washington, Oregon and New Jersey. In January of 2011 he became the Pastor of The Community Church of Issaquah, Washington.
Keith was born and raised in the Kansas City area. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Kansas University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, KS in 1974, and was ordained in June of that year as an American Baptist minister. He went on to get a Doctor of Ministry degree from St. Paul School of Theology (United Methodist) in 1991. In addition to his undergraduate work in Psychology, Keith has taken pastoral counseling coursework in seminary (Marriage Counseling and Grief Counseling) and in continuing education courses at the Menninger Foundation (Marriage Counseling and Counseling of At-Risk Adolescents). He has also been trained as a Stephen Ministry leader.
In his pastoral capacity Keith has counseled many families and individuals on: marital issues, loss of loved ones, adjustment to divorce, marital decisions, sexual struggles, recovering from traumatic childhood experiences, keeping faith in the midst of a financial melt-down, negative self-image issues, struggles with forgiveness, dealing with doubt, parent-child relationships, and adolescent struggles. In addition to his roles as pastor and counselor, Keith writes inspirational e-book fiction www.keithmadsen.com. He and his wife Cathy have five adult children and nine grandchildren.
