Do you every feel so overwhelmed by things that you literally don’t know how or what to pray for? Paul obviously did. In Romans 8:26-27, he wrote:

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.

What an awesome promise to know that when I have no idea what to pray, Spirit does that for me in ways that are for my highest and best good! My cries go out to God and He hears and answers me.

The following verse, caps this with one of the best promises in the Bible:

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them. Romans 8:28

God will work this for my good! Everything in my life can be a blessing, even when it may not feel like it or look like it at the time!

I can remember a time in my life when I challenged that. Broken, beaten, angry and afraid, I challenged God to take what had just happened and work it for my good. He did!!

Today I count that experience as one of the most important turning points in my life. But first, I had to pray and trust God to make a blessing out of tragedy. I had to trust Spirit to pray for me when I had no idea how. Thank you, God, that His promises are true and amen!
